@donmelton FWIW, I’ve been on Mastodon since 2018 (on different instances) and I have never heard about the pineapple thing… Doesn’t mean that it is not a thing. 🤷♂️
@jean Nobody expect the Spanish Inq… what ever is going on… 😂 It’s so bizarre.
@nail7 yes!!
@JanHegenberg “Scan followings” angeklickt? Die app schaut erstmal nach validen Namen in deiner Bio.
@aardrian @anatudor @crystal There was a good presentation a few months ago that was basically: Don't bother with selector performance, you probably create things in CSS that are many times less “performant” and even that is a tiny performance penalty compared to images and videos.
@marjon You rock, too!
@MarcoZehe Good find. There are so many breaking points in the ActivityPub implementations, I hope that is something that can be sorted out on the micro.blog side. I was about to start having a concentrated look on accessibility of micro.blog and create a more accessible theme before the “musky …
@manton Nice!
@kevinfarner 👋 from Non-Mastodon. Ain’t it fascinating?
@manton Thanks for the accessibility improvement! 🎊 And generally for all the hard work to make micro.blog a good Fediverse citizen and quicker than we all expected! 😂
@tristan You’ve been added.
@muhh Ah, that makes sense!
@muhh Can’t you flash a new BIOS on it? (I haven’t built PCs for 20 years, so it’s all outdated knowledge!)
@fedbysandrine @MarcoZehe I didn’t make a % usage argument. I made a usability argument. If I want to jump to the header, would my goal be to directly jump to the content? Probably rather not. If a user wants to go to the skip link specifically, they would probably jump all the way to the top …
@michaelvanlaar Yup, works pretty well for me. But it deliberately does not support some features of Mastodon (Boost, Stars, DMs, Follower lists & counts …). So if you don’t use them or don’t want to use them, micro.blog can work for you. ActivityPub FAQ
@tom I also question if people just intuitively knew how Twitter worked when they signed up? Or was the learning curve so long ago that they don’t remember? It’s a new thing, take some patience. 🤷
@besenwagen Your posts seem to show up here immediately. Hard to say where the delay is… 🤷♂️
@mattgemmell I think Mastodon allows to use colon-verified-colon (:verified:) as an “emoji”.
@patrickrhone Nate Silver is quite a tool… Sure his task would be to de-bias the data…
@mattgemmell Such a good value! I wished those tools would work for me, but the UI just does not work with my brain. I’m quite happy with Pixelmator Pro and Sketch for now.
@MarcoZehe I’m quite sensitive, too. I picked a mid-range switch (“Cherry Brown”) but there are switches that are almost silent (like “Cherry Red”). The keyboard allows to swap the switches and they are not super expensive, so I will see what fits me.
@besenwagen Nice, love it! It’ll be interesting to get all the umlauts on mine – probably double tapping a, o, and u is the best way. I don’t think I need separate keys but want to access them quickly.
@antonyjohnston This is such a shit show… 😂 It’s like he thinks “important people have blue badges, so if we give blue badges to everyone, everyone will be important”. I mean “Blue check will be the great leveler”. What a clown.
@aardrian @SaraSoueidan I used masto.host, and it was painless. Literally nothing to worry about it. (But currently closed to new signups due to the demand.) Pleroma (https://pleroma.social) is capable to run on shared hosting, but is not Mastodon but a different Fediverse client – I have never used …
@vincent I can see it now! Thanks!
